Ecommerce Website Development Services

Ecommerce website development: WooCommerce, Shopify and custom B2B/B2C stores with payments, ERP and inventory integration, performance and conversion basics.

Email hello@ps3g.com

Ecommerce website development is more than a storefront. The store has to take payment, calculate tax and shipping, know what is in stock, hand orders to the people who fulfill them and report back to accounting, all while loading fast on a phone. PS3G builds stores on WooCommerce, Shopify or a custom .NET or Node.js platform and connects them to the ERP, inventory, shipping and marketing systems you already run. The work is scoped to the business: a first store for a founder with one product line, a replatform for a retailer that has outgrown its template, or a B2B ordering portal for a distributor with contract pricing.

Stores that sell and systems that keep up

Two things decide whether a store succeeds after launch: whether customers can find, trust and buy (search, product content, speed, checkout), and whether the business can keep up (stock accuracy, order flow, returns, accounting). Many store projects invest in the first and discover the second when the orders arrive.

We design both. The storefront is built for the conversion basics: clear navigation, fast pages, product pages that answer the buyer’s questions, a checkout with as few steps as the payment method allows, and analytics that show where buyers leave. Behind it, orders, inventory and customer records flow to the systems that run the business without re-keying. The wider picture for retailers is on our retail and ecommerce industry page.

B2C, B2B and marketplace models

The business model decides the feature set long before the platform does.

Model What the store needs Where we usually build it
B2C retail Catalog and search, promotions and coupons, guest checkout, digital wallets, reviews, abandoned-cart recovery, subscriptions, loyalty Shopify or WooCommerce
B2B ordering Company accounts with several buyers, contract or tiered pricing, quotes, purchase orders and net terms, approval workflows, bulk order forms, quick reorder, ERP synchronization WooCommerce with B2B extensions, Shopify B2B, or a custom .NET or Node.js platform
Marketplace Vendor onboarding, listings, commission and split payouts, vendor dashboards, dispute handling, moderation Custom platform or WooCommerce multivendor extensions
Bookings and services Availability calendars, deposits, reminders, packages, memberships WooCommerce with booking extensions or a custom build

B2B ecommerce website development is where off-the-shelf templates fall short, because pricing, permissions and order approval are business rules, not design choices. We model those rules with your sales and finance teams before choosing the platform.

Ecommerce website development platforms: WooCommerce, Shopify or custom, and how we choose

WooCommerce. Open source on WordPress, so content and commerce live in one system you control, with no transaction fees beyond the payment processor. Best for stores that need custom behavior, content-heavy marketing, or B2B rules, and for teams already on WordPress. It needs hosting, updates and a maintenance plan, which our WordPress development team provides.

Shopify. Hosted, fast to launch and operationally simple: Shopify handles hosting, most of the payment security scope and platform updates. Best for B2C retailers who want a reliable store without running infrastructure, and for teams that will manage the store themselves. Customization runs through themes, apps and the Storefront API, and some business rules cost more to bend than on an open platform.

Custom .NET or Node.js. For stores whose pricing, configuration, fulfillment or integration rules do not fit any platform, or that are one part of a larger application. We build these as headless commerce: a catalog, cart and order API with a React or Next.js storefront, so the same back end can serve a website, an app and a sales team’s tools.

How we choose: who will run the store day to day, how complex the pricing and product rules are, which systems it must talk to, expected order volume, and what your team already knows. The recommendation and its reasons go in the proposal, and the public website around the store follows our website development process.

Tell us what you sell and how and we will recommend a platform with reasons.

Payments, tax, shipping, ERP and inventory integration

  • Payments. Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.Net or Shopify Payments, with Apple Pay and Google Pay, buy-now-pay-later options where they fit, and hosted payment fields so card data never touches your servers.
  • Tax. Native platform tax or a service such as Avalara or TaxJar, configured for the jurisdictions you sell into and reviewed with your accountant.
  • Shipping. Live rates from UPS, FedEx and USPS, rules for free and flat-rate shipping, local pickup, and fulfillment through ShipStation or your warehouse system.
  • ERP and inventory. Products, stock levels, prices, orders and customers synchronized with Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP Business One, NetSuite or QuickBooks, with the ERP kept as the system of record. Our ERP practice and our API and integration team build and monitor these connections.
  • Marketing and analytics. Klaviyo, Mailchimp or HubSpot for email, GA4 ecommerce events, and product feeds for Google Merchant Center and marketplaces.

Mobile commerce apps

A responsive store serves most buyers. A dedicated app earns its cost when customers buy repeatedly, when push notifications and loyalty matter, or when staff need barcode scanning or offline order capture. We build ecommerce mobile apps on React Native or Flutter against the store’s own API (the Shopify Storefront API, the WooCommerce REST API or your custom platform), so there is one catalog, one cart logic and one order pipeline. Store submission, analytics and maintenance are covered by our mobile app development team.

Performance, SEO, security and PCI considerations

Performance. Product images through a CDN in modern formats, variant data loaded only when needed, page and object caching, and an audit of third-party apps and scripts, which are the usual cause of a slow store. We measure Core Web Vitals on the home, category, product and checkout templates before launch.

SEO. A category and product URL structure that matches how people search, canonical tags for filters and variants, product and review schema, fast templates, and a redirect map for every replatform so rankings move with the store.

Security and PCI. Keeping card data off your systems is the biggest lever: hosted payment fields or redirects to the processor reduce the parts of the PCI DSS that apply to you, and around that we add TLS everywhere, a web application firewall, multi-factor sign-in for staff accounts, fraud screening from the payment provider and tested backups. Which self-assessment questionnaire applies depends on how you accept payments, so check the current PCI DSS text and your acquirer’s requirements. This is general information, not legal advice.

Engagement models and how we start

  • Fixed-scope project. A new store or a replatform with a defined catalog, integrations and price.
  • Dedicated team or staff augmentation. Developers working with your ecommerce and marketing teams on a monthly cadence.
  • Managed services. Store maintenance, monitoring, updates and enhancements under defined SLAs.
  • Advisory. Platform selection, a conversion and performance audit, or an integration review.

How we start: a first conversation about what you sell and how orders are fulfilled, a short assessment of your current store and systems, and a written proposal.

Why PS3G

We build and run our own products, including our HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, and our kids’ learning app, EasyLearning4Kids, which sells through a one-time in-app purchase and holds 5-star ratings on the App Store and Google Play. Running products that take payments and must stay up shapes how we build stores. More than a decade in business, a headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware with a delivery center in India, Microsoft and open-source certified engineers and a testing center of excellence support every store we deliver.

Frequently asked questions

Is WooCommerce or Shopify better for my store?

Shopify is usually the better fit for a B2C retailer who wants a hosted store with minimal operations and standard checkout behavior. WooCommerce is usually better when you need custom pricing or product rules, content-heavy marketing on the same site, B2B features, or full control of hosting and data. Order volume, team skills and integrations decide the rest, and we recommend one in writing before any build.

Can you integrate the store with our ERP or accounting system?

Yes. We synchronize products, prices, stock, orders and customers between the store and systems such as Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP Business One, NetSuite and QuickBooks, keeping the ERP as the system of record. Where a maintained connector exists and is reliable we configure it; where it is not we build the integration with error handling, retries and a log your team can read.

Do you build B2B ecommerce websites with customer-specific pricing?

Yes. B2B stores need company accounts with several buyers, contract or tiered pricing, quotes, purchase orders, net terms, approval workflows and fast reorder, usually synchronized with the ERP that holds the price lists. We model those rules with your sales and finance teams first, then build them on WooCommerce with B2B extensions, Shopify B2B or a custom platform, depending on their complexity.

How do you handle PCI compliance for the store?

By keeping card data off your systems wherever possible, using hosted payment fields or processor-hosted checkout, which reduces the PCI DSS requirements that apply to the store. We then add TLS, a web application firewall, multi-factor sign-in for staff and fraud screening. Your acquirer confirms which self-assessment applies to your setup, and we help you complete it. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can you move our store to a new platform without losing rankings?

Yes. A replatform starts with an inventory of every category, product and content URL and a redirect map to the new addresses. We migrate product data and customer accounts, rebuild the design, test the redirects before launch, submit the new sitemap and monitor rankings and crawl errors afterward. The redirect map is what protects your search traffic and inbound links.

Do you build ecommerce mobile apps as well as websites?

Yes. We build iOS and Android commerce apps on React Native or Flutter against the store’s existing API, so the catalog, cart logic and order pipeline stay in one place. An app makes sense when customers buy repeatedly, when loyalty and push notifications matter, or when staff need scanning or offline features. Our mobile team handles store submission and ongoing maintenance.
