Web Design Services
Web design services from PS3G: custom website design that is built to convert, load fast and rank, designed and developed by one team in Wilmington.
Web design services from PS3G produce a website that does three jobs: it persuades the visitor you want, it loads fast on a phone, and it ranks for the things you do. The design and the development are done by the same team, so what you approve in the design file is what you get in the browser, with no hand-off to a separate developer who interprets it differently. We work from Wilmington, Delaware, with an India delivery center, for organizations of every size.

A founder needs a site that explains a new product in one screen and takes a sign-up. A growing professional firm needs a site that makes a serious first impression and generates inquiries. A department inside a large organization needs a microsite or a product site that fits the corporate brand and passes the security review. The design discipline is the same; the scope and the engagement are different.
Design and development by the same team
Most web design companies hand a finished design to a developer, sometimes in another company, and the two argue about what is possible. Fonts change, spacing drifts, the clever interaction gets dropped because it was never costed, and the site that launches is a compromise nobody chose.
At PS3G, the designer and the developer sit in the same project from day one. Designers know what the platform can do; developers see the design intent before they build. Decisions about performance, accessibility and search are made in the design stage, where they are cheap, rather than after launch, where they are not. It also means one contract, one point of contact and one team accountable for the result, which is the main reason clients choose web design and development services from a single firm.
It helps that we build software for a living. A site that needs a customer portal, a booking engine, an integration with your CRM or a members-only area is not a special request for us; it is website development, the practice this page sits beside.
What our web design covers
- Strategy. Who the site is for, what you want each type of visitor to do, and which pages carry that weight. A short workshop, written up as a page plan and a set of goals you can measure.
- User experience (UX). Site structure, navigation, page flows and wireframes, tested against the goals before any visual design starts. Our UI/UX design practice covers this for web and for applications.
- Visual design. Typography, color, imagery, layout and a design system of reusable components, built in Figma and reviewed with you page by page.
- Content structure. Headings, page copy slots, calls to action and the information each page must carry to rank and convert. We can write the copy or structure it for your writer.
- Accessibility. Contrast, keyboard navigation, focus states, alt text and semantic markup to the WCAG guidelines, designed in rather than audited afterwards.
- Performance. Image strategy, font loading, layout stability and script budgets set at design time, so the built site meets Core Web Vitals.
- Responsive web design. Every layout designed for phone, tablet and desktop, with the phone view treated as the primary one because that is where most visitors arrive.
Our design process
- Discovery. A first conversation, then a short workshop on audience, goals, competitors, brand and content. Output: a written brief, a sitemap and a page plan.
- Wireframes. Low-fidelity layouts for the key page types, showing structure and content priority without visual styling. You review and we revise until the flow is right.
- Design system. Typography, color, spacing, buttons, forms, cards and other components defined once and applied everywhere. Then high-fidelity designs of each page type, reviewed with you.
- Build. The same team implements the design on the chosen platform, with the performance and accessibility rules carried over. You see a staging site as pages are completed, not at the end.
- Launch. Content migration, redirects, analytics and Search Console, final testing across devices and browsers, and a launch checklist we sign off together. Then a maintenance plan if you want one.

Platforms and when each fits
| Platform | Fits when | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | You want to edit content yourself, the site is mostly pages and posts, and you value a large ecosystem of plugins and hosts. | Needs disciplined theme and plugin choices and ongoing updates to stay fast and secure. Our WordPress development practice builds custom themes rather than bloated ones. |
| Headless (WordPress or a headless CMS with a React or Next.js front end) | You need very high performance, multiple front ends (web, app, kiosk) from one content source, or strict security separation between editing and publishing. | More engineering, more moving parts, and editors lose some of the visual editing they are used to. |
| Custom build | The site is really an application: portals, dashboards, complex search, transactions, logged-in experiences, or integration-heavy work on .NET, Node.js or another stack. | Highest flexibility and highest build effort. Content editing is built to your needs rather than inherited from a CMS. |
We are platform-neutral. Most business websites are best served by a well-built WordPress site; most products and portals are best served by a custom build. We will say which one fits in the proposal and why.
Design for conversion, speed and search
A website design that wins an award and loses the inquiry is a failure. We design for the visitor’s decision: a clear statement of what you do and for whom in the first screen, evidence that supports it, and one obvious next step on every page. Forms are short, contact details are visible, and the path from a search result to a conversation is as short as we can make it.
Speed is a design decision before it is an engineering one. Large hero videos, unoptimized images, custom font stacks and script-heavy animations are the usual culprits, and all of them are chosen in the design stage. We set budgets early and build to them, so the site meets Core Web Vitals on a mid-range phone rather than only on a designer’s laptop.
Search is built into the structure: one topic per page, headings that answer questions, internal links between related pages, clean URLs, schema markup and a content plan that gives each service or product its own page. Our SEO services continue that work after launch for sites we build and maintain. We do not promise rankings; we build sites that give rankings a fair chance and we measure the result in Search Console.
Examples by organization type
- Small business. A professional site of five to fifteen pages with services, about, proof and contact, on WordPress with an editing workflow the owner can use. Small business web design is most of what we do, and it is scoped as a fixed-price project.
- Nonprofit or association. Content-heavy, often with events, donations or membership, run by volunteers or a small staff. The design priority is clarity and an editing experience that survives staff turnover.
- Professional firm. Law, accounting, consulting, medical. Credibility, practice-area pages that rank, attorney or provider profiles, and intake forms that respect privacy rules.
- Product or startup site. One message, one action, fast iteration as positioning changes. Often headless or a lightweight custom build so marketing can test quickly.
- Enterprise or departmental site. Brand compliance, accessibility requirements, security review, integration with corporate identity or marketing systems. We work inside your procurement and security rules.
For an existing site that has fallen behind, the starting point is usually a website redesign rather than a blank page, because it protects the rankings and the content you already have.
Engagement models
- Fixed-scope project. The usual model for a website: a defined page plan, design and build at a quoted price, with changes priced before they are made.
- Dedicated team or staff augmentation. A designer or front-end developer on a monthly basis for organizations with a continuous stream of web work.
- Managed services. Ongoing care after launch through website maintenance and support: updates, backups, security, performance and small changes under a defined SLA.
- Advisory. A design and UX review of your current site, or a platform recommendation before you commit to a rebuild.
How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment of your current site and goals, a written proposal. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, we serve clients across Delaware, New Jersey, Philadelphia and New York in person, and the rest of the United States remotely.

Frequently asked questions
How much does custom website design cost?
It depends on the number of page types, the amount of custom functionality, the content work and the platform, which is why we quote after a short discovery rather than from a price list. Most websites are sold as a fixed-scope project: a written page plan, a design and build price, and a change process for anything added later. Ask for a quote and you will get the drivers explained, not just a number.
How long does a website design project take?
The schedule is set by the number of page types, how quickly content and feedback arrive, and whether there is custom functionality. Discovery and wireframes come first, then the design system and page designs, then the build and launch. The proposal gives a schedule tied to your scope. The most common delay on any website project is content, so we plan the content work alongside the design rather than after it.
Do you design and develop, or only design?
Both, by the same team, and that is the point of the service. If you already have a developer or an internal team and only need design, we can deliver a design system and page designs in Figma with build notes. If you already have designs, our website development practice can build them. Most clients use the combined service because it removes the hand-off where projects usually go wrong.
Will the new website be responsive and accessible?
Yes. Every layout is designed for phone, tablet and desktop, with the phone view treated as the primary one. Accessibility is designed in from the wireframe stage: contrast, keyboard navigation, focus states, semantic headings and alt text to the WCAG guidelines. Both are checked on real devices before launch, and the launch checklist includes them as sign-off items rather than optional extras.
Can you redesign our existing site without losing our search rankings?
Yes, if the redesign is planned for it. We inventory your current URLs and their traffic, keep or redirect every one, carry over the content that ranks, preserve titles and headings where they work, and verify indexing after launch in Search Console. Our website redesign page describes the method in detail. Redesigns lose rankings when nobody does that inventory; it is a planning problem, not a design one.
Do you offer web design services in Wilmington, DE and nearby?
Yes. PS3G is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, and we meet clients in person across Delaware, New Jersey, Philadelphia and New York. Design reviews are done on screen either way, so clients elsewhere in the United States get the same process remotely. Our India delivery center adds build capacity, managed from the US, under one contract and one point of contact.
