Website Maintenance and Application Support Services

Website Maintenance and Application Support Services

Website maintenance and application support: updates, security patching, backups, monitoring, fixes and small enhancements for WordPress.

Email hello@ps3g.com

Website maintenance services keep a site or application running, secure and current after the launch project ends: updates and patching, uptime monitoring, backups, security hardening, performance checks, bug fixes and the small changes that pile up in a marketing team’s inbox. PS3G provides this for WordPress sites, custom web applications and mobile apps, under a monthly plan with defined SLAs and a named point of contact. It suits a founder who should not be the one applying plugin updates at midnight, a marketing team that needs changes made the same week, and an IT department that wants one accountable vendor for systems it did not build.

Keep it running, secure and current

Software decays without anyone touching it. WordPress core, PHP, themes and plugins release security fixes every month; frameworks reach end of support; certificates expire; browsers change behavior; hosting providers retire plans. A site nobody maintains becomes slower, then insecure, then broken, and the first sign is usually a customer complaint or a drop in search traffic.

Maintenance is the routine that prevents that: a schedule for updates, monitoring that notices problems before users do, backups that have been tested by restoring them, and a person to call. It also absorbs the work that otherwise interrupts your developers or never gets done, such as fixing a form, adding a page from an existing template or changing a payment setting.

What our website maintenance services cover

  • Updates and patching. CMS core, plugins, themes, PHP, Node.js or .NET runtimes and application dependencies, applied first on a staging copy, checked with a visual regression pass, then released with a rollback point.
  • Uptime monitoring. External checks from more than one location, alerts to our team, certificate and domain expiry tracking, and a defined incident process when something fails.
  • Backups. Scheduled, stored off the production server, retained according to the plan, and restore-tested on a schedule so the backup you need is one that works.
  • Security hardening. Web application firewall, login protection and multi-factor sign-in for administrators, file permissions, malware scanning, security headers, removal of unused plugins and accounts, and vulnerability monitoring for the components you run.
  • Performance checks. Core Web Vitals, caching and CDN configuration, image optimization, database cleanup and a review of third-party scripts that slow pages down.
  • Content and small changes. A monthly allowance of hours for edits, new pages built from existing templates, form changes, banners, menu updates and tracking changes.
  • Bug fixes. Broken layouts, form errors, plugin conflicts and integration failures, fixed at the root rather than patched over.
  • Reporting. A monthly summary of updates applied, uptime, incidents, hours used and recommendations, written for the person who owns the site rather than for engineers.

Plans by size

Plans are built around the number of sites, the stack and how much change you expect each month. No two are identical, but they fall into three shapes.

Plan Who it fits What is included
Starter One WordPress site for a founder, practice, nonprofit or small team Scheduled updates, monitoring, backups, security basics, performance check, a small monthly change allowance, email support
Growing One or two sites with integrations (CRM, booking, payments, a store) and a marketing team that ships content weekly More frequent update cycles, a staging environment, performance tuning, a larger change allowance, priority queue, quarterly review of analytics and backlog
Multi-site or application Several sites, a custom web application or a mobile app, with an IT owner Dedicated engineer hours, release management, defined SLAs for incidents, security scanning, dependency upgrades, reporting to IT and compliance

All plans are month to month. We quote after a short audit, because the right plan depends on what we find, and we would rather tell you a site needs a cleanup before maintenance than charge for maintaining a problem.

Websites, web apps and mobile apps

WordPress sites. The most common case. WordPress maintenance covers core, theme and plugin updates, WooCommerce and payment gateway changes, Elementor or block-editor updates and the compatibility problems they cause. Our WordPress development team handles the larger changes, so you never have two vendors arguing over the same theme.

Custom web applications. Application maintenance services for .NET, Node.js, PHP and Java systems: dependency and framework upgrades, database maintenance, monitoring with Application Insights or CloudWatch, log review, bug fixes and small enhancements. When the backlog grows beyond fixes into new features, the work moves to our software development and maintenance practice with a dedicated team.

Mobile apps. Mobile app maintenance services cover the yearly iOS and Android releases, store policy changes, SDK and library updates, signing certificate and provisioning renewals, crash monitoring and resubmissions, with new features handled by our mobile app development team.

Organizations that want the same accountable arrangement across servers, cloud accounts and user support can extend it through our managed professional services.

How onboarding works

  1. Audit. We collect access, inventory every component and its version, review hosting, backups, security, performance, analytics and integrations, and write up what we found with a priority on each item.
  2. Fixes. Urgent security and stability items are handled first as a fixed-scope piece of work, so the plan starts from a clean baseline rather than inheriting problems.
  3. Routine. We set the update schedule, monitoring, staging environment and the channel for change requests, agree who approves what, and send the first monthly report.

Engagement models and how we start

  • Managed services. The default for this page: a monthly plan under defined SLAs.
  • Fixed-scope project. A one-time audit and cleanup, a hosting move or a major version upgrade.
  • Dedicated team or staff augmentation. Engineers working through an application backlog alongside your team.
  • Advisory. A hosting and platform review, or a second opinion on an existing maintenance contract.

How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment of the site or application, and a written proposal that names the plan, the inclusions and the price.

Why PS3G

We maintain our own public sites and our own products, including our HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, so the update, backup and monitoring routines we sell are the ones we rely on ourselves. Our headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware handles your working day, and our delivery center in India extends coverage for overnight updates and monitoring. More than a decade of building and running software, Microsoft and open-source certified engineers, and a testing center of excellence that checks updates before they reach production are what stand behind the plan.

Frequently asked questions

What do website maintenance services include?

Updates for the CMS, plugins, themes and runtimes; uptime monitoring with alerts; scheduled and tested backups; security hardening and vulnerability monitoring; performance checks; a monthly allowance for content and small changes; bug fixes; and a monthly report. Larger plans add staging environments, release management, defined incident SLAs and security scanning. The exact inclusions are listed in the proposal so there is no ambiguity about what is covered.

How often should a website be updated?

Security updates should be applied as soon as they are released and tested, which in practice means a regular update cycle plus out-of-cycle patches for critical fixes. Feature updates to plugins and themes can be batched. Runtimes such as PHP and frameworks such as .NET should be upgraded before their support ends; we track those lifecycle pages and schedule the upgrade in advance rather than during an emergency.

Can you maintain a website you did not build?

Yes, and most maintenance engagements start that way. The onboarding audit tells us what we are inheriting: component versions, custom code, hosting, backups, security and performance. We fix the urgent items as a fixed-scope piece and then begin the routine. If the site’s foundation is beyond maintenance, we say so and propose a redesign instead of charging to keep a failing site alive.

Do you provide application maintenance services for custom software?

Yes, for web applications built on .NET, Node.js, PHP or Java and for iOS and Android apps. Software maintenance services cover dependency and framework upgrades, monitoring, log review, database care, bug fixes and small enhancements. When the work becomes a steady stream of new features, we recommend moving to a dedicated team so the application keeps evolving rather than only being kept alive.

What happens if the site goes down?

Monitoring alerts our team, the incident process in your plan starts, and we restore service first and investigate second. You receive an update when we start, when service is back and when the root cause is known. Response and resolution targets are defined in the agreement, and incidents appear in the monthly report with what was changed to stop a repeat.

Can we change or cancel the plan?

Plans are month to month and can be moved up or down as your needs change, for example before a campaign season or after a site consolidation. If you cancel, we hand over documentation, access and the backup archive in an orderly way. You own the site, the hosting account and the code throughout, so leaving is never a technical problem.
