IT Services for Small Business

IT Services for Small Business

IT services for small business from PS3G: cloud setup and Microsoft 365, websites and apps, automation, data and AI, security and compliance.

Email hello@ps3g.com

IT services for small business from PS3G cover the software and cloud side of running a company: setting up and securing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, building and maintaining your website and any apps you need, automating repetitive work, getting your data into reports you can trust, adding AI where it earns its place, and meeting the security and compliance requirements your customers and insurers ask about. We do not sell or support hardware, printers, office networks or end-user devices, and we say so up front so you can plan around it.

IT Services for Small Business - PS3G

The same engineers do this work for larger organizations. What changes for a small business is the scope: a first project that fits a quarter, one point of contact, reporting in plain English, and a monthly arrangement only if you need one. Whether you run a two-person consultancy, a twenty-person clinic or a fifty-person distributor, you get scoped work and a team that has done it before.

IT services sized for a small business, from a firm that also serves enterprises

Most small business IT services come from one of two places: a local IT support company that is good at computers and networks but thin on software, or a large consultancy that treats anything under a certain size as not worth a proposal. PS3G sits elsewhere. We are an engineering firm that builds and runs software, cloud systems, data platforms and AI for organizations of every size, and we have done so for over a decade from Wilmington, Delaware, with an India delivery center for scale.

That matters to a small business in two ways. The work is done by people who do the same work for bigger clients, so you are not getting a junior version of the service. And because we build and run our own products, including our HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, we know what it is like to keep a system running with a small team and a limited budget. We scope accordingly.

What we do for small businesses

Cloud and Microsoft 365

Setting up or cleaning up Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace: identity and multi-factor authentication, email security, SharePoint or Drive structure, Teams, licensing that matches how you actually work. Moving a server-based application or file share to Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. Backup and recovery that has been tested. See cloud solutions for the migration and management side.

Website and apps

A website that loads fast, ranks for what you do and is easy for you to update, usually on WordPress. Customer portals, booking systems, internal tools and mobile apps when a spreadsheet or an off-the-shelf product stops fitting. Maintenance after launch so the site does not decay. Start with website development.

Automation

Connecting the systems you already pay for so data stops being re-typed: your CRM to your accounting package, your web forms to your email tool, your orders to your fulfillment process. Power Automate, Zapier-class tools or a small custom integration, whichever is simplest to maintain.

Data and reporting

Getting sales, operations and finance data out of separate systems and into one set of dashboards, usually in Power BI, with definitions everyone agrees on. A small company can go from monthly spreadsheet reconciliation to a weekly report in a single fixed-scope project.

AI

Honest advice on where AI helps a business your size (document handling, customer email triage, summarizing, first-draft content, internal Q&A on your own files) and where it does not. A short readiness check, a proof of concept with a defined success measure, and governance that fits on two pages. See AI consulting.

Security and compliance

The controls that cyber-insurance applications, customer questionnaires and regulators ask about: multi-factor authentication, access reviews, backup, logging, written policies, staff awareness. HIPAA for healthcare businesses, SOC 2 readiness if a larger customer requires it. We assess first, then fix what matters. See information security.

What we do not do, and who to call for that

PS3G does not sell, install, repair or support hardware. That includes laptops and desktops, printers and scanners, phones, office Wi-Fi and network cabling, firewalls as physical devices, and day-to-day end-user device support such as password resets and “my laptop is slow”. We also do not run a help desk for staff.

For that work you want a local managed service provider (MSP) or an IT support company near you that specializes in devices and networks. Many small businesses use both: an MSP for the machines and the office, PS3G for the software, cloud, data and AI. The two work well together, and we are glad to coordinate with your MSP on things like identity, email security and cloud access, where the lines cross.

If you are not sure which side a problem falls on, ask us. We will tell you plainly, and we will not take on work we are not set up to do well.

Professional firms are our most common small-business client, and we describe that work in more detail on the professional services page.

How pricing works, without quoting numbers here

We do not publish prices, because the same project can be small or large depending on what is already in place. We do publish how pricing works, so you can plan.

  • Fixed-scope projects. Most small business work starts here. We define the deliverable in writing, quote a fixed price for it, and changes are priced separately before they are done. You know the cost before you commit.
  • Monthly plans. For ongoing work such as website maintenance, cloud operations under a defined SLA, or a set number of engineering hours each month. Scaled up or down with notice. See managed professional services.
  • Advisory. A technical assessment, a one-page IT strategy, or a fractional CTO who joins your leadership calls. Often the right first step when you are not sure what to buy.

How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment, a written proposal with the scope, the price and the assumptions. No minimum budget, no retainer before you have seen a proposal.

Ask for a fixed-scope quote for the first project on your list.

How we work with a small team

You get one named point of contact who understands the whole engagement, not a ticket queue. Reporting is in plain English: what was done, what is next, what we need from you, and anything that will cost money before it does. Technical detail is available when you want it and absent when you do not.

We work in your accounts and your tools, so you own everything: the domain, the hosting, the cloud subscription, the code, the documentation. If you ever move to another provider, there is nothing to prise out of our hands. We also keep decisions reversible where we can, which usually means choosing mainstream tools over clever ones.

IT consulting for small business should leave you more capable, not more dependent. Where it makes sense we train one of your people to do the routine work, and we write things down so the next person can follow them.

Engagement models

  • Fixed-scope project. A defined deliverable at a quoted price: a website, a migration, an integration, a dashboard, a security assessment.
  • Dedicated team or staff augmentation. An engineer or a small team on a monthly basis when you have steady work and someone to direct it.
  • Managed services. We run your website, cloud environment or application under a defined SLA, with monthly reporting.
  • Advisory. Assessment, roadmap or fractional CTO. See technology consulting.

Start small, scale when it works. A single fixed-scope project is a fine way to find out whether we are the right fit.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide IT support for small business, like fixing computers and networks?

No. PS3G does not sell, install or support hardware, printers, office networks, phones or end-user devices, and we do not run a help desk. For that, use a local managed service provider that specializes in devices and networks. We cover the software and cloud side: Microsoft 365 and cloud setup, websites and apps, automation, data and reporting, AI, and security and compliance. Many clients use an MSP and PS3G together.

What are managed IT services for small business at PS3G?

A monthly arrangement in which we run something for you under a defined SLA: your website, your cloud environment, an application we built, or a set number of engineering hours. You get monthly reporting in plain English and can scale the plan up or down with notice. It covers software and cloud operations only, not devices or office networks.

How much do IT services for a small business cost?

It depends on what is already in place, which is why we quote after a short assessment rather than from a price list. Most small businesses start with a fixed-scope project, where the deliverable and the price are written down before work begins. Ongoing needs are handled on a monthly plan. There is no minimum budget and no retainer before you have seen a written proposal.

Are we too small for PS3G?

No. We work with organizations of every size, from a single founder to departments inside large companies, and the engineering is the same. What changes is the scope. A two-person firm might start with a Microsoft 365 cleanup and a website; a fifty-person company might start with an integration or a reporting project. If a project is too small to be worth a proposal, we will say so and point you to a simpler option.

Can you work with our existing IT company or MSP?

Yes, and it is common. Your MSP keeps the devices, the office network and the help desk; we handle software, cloud, data and AI. The two overlap at identity, email security and cloud access, and we coordinate with your MSP on those so nobody is working at cross purposes. We will ask for a contact there at the start of the engagement.

Which cloud should a small business use?

For most small businesses the answer is whichever productivity suite you already use, extended: Microsoft 365 with Azure if you live in Outlook and Excel, Google Workspace with Google Cloud if you live in Gmail and Sheets. AWS is a good fit when a developer-built product is the main workload. We are vendor-neutral and will recommend based on your people and your systems, not on partner incentives.
