Enterprise Software Development

Enterprise software development from PS3G: line-of-business applications, integrations and modernization delivered inside your security.

Email hello@ps3g.com

PS3G provides enterprise software development for departments and IT groups that need custom applications built, integrated or modernized inside an existing security and procurement framework. We build line-of-business applications, customer and partner portals, integrations between systems that were never meant to talk, data platforms, and replacements for applications that have reached the end of their life. The page is written for the people who vet a vendor: IT directors, enterprise architects, procurement and security teams. Everything here also applies to a growing company that is starting to need enterprise discipline, because the engineering is the same whether you are a division of a large group or an organization of fifty people with a strict customer.

Enterprise work without enterprise overhead

Large organizations often face a choice between a global consultancy whose smallest engagement is bigger than the problem, and a small shop that has never passed a security review. We sit between those. We have worked inside corporate change control, single sign-on, network segmentation and audit requirements for over a decade, and we run our own regulated software product, so a security questionnaire is routine. At the same time, the team you deal with is the team doing the work, decisions are made quickly, and an engagement can start with one application rather than a transformation program.

The result is enterprise application development with the controls your organization requires and without the layers that make a simple portal take a year.

What we build for enterprises

  • Line-of-business applications. Custom enterprise software for the work that packaged products do not fit: case management, scheduling and dispatch, quoting and configuration, claims and approvals, quality and compliance tracking, inventory and asset management. Built for the department that owns the process, with the roles, workflows and reports that process actually needs.
  • Portals. Customer, partner, supplier and employee portals that put self-service in front of systems of record: invoices and statements, orders and status, documents, tickets, onboarding. Our enterprise web practice covers the web side; enterprise mobility covers field and workforce apps.
  • Integrations. Connecting ERP, CRM, HR, finance, document management and industry systems through APIs, message queues, file exchange and integration platforms. See API development and integration.
  • Data platforms. Warehouses, pipelines and reporting layers that consolidate operational data for analytics, with governance built in.
  • Modernization. Moving applications off unsupported frameworks and infrastructure, including legacy .NET Framework, classic ASP, old Java and desktop applications, through our application modernization service.
  • Enterprise app development for mobile. Field service, inspections, warehouse and sales apps with offline support and enterprise distribution.

Working inside your rules

Enterprise application development services are judged as much on how the vendor behaves as on the code. We expect to work inside your governance, and we plan for it from the proposal onward.

Requirement How we work with it
Security review and vendor onboarding Completed questionnaires, policies, evidence of our own controls, staff vetting to the standard your policy requires, and a named security contact. We have been through this process as a vendor and as a software company answering for our own product.
Procurement Statements of work with defined deliverables, acceptance criteria and exclusions; master services agreements; purchase-order and milestone invoicing; supplier onboarding paperwork completed as your process requires.
Identity and access Applications integrate with your identity provider (Entra ID, Okta, ADFS or another SAML or OpenID Connect provider); our engineers use your accounts, your VPN and your devices where policy requires.
Audit and logging Audit trails designed in: who did what, when, to which record, retained according to your policy and exportable to your SIEM.
Change control Releases go through your change advisory process with documented rollback plans; environments mirror your promotion path (development, test, staging, production).
Data handling Data classification respected, production data never copied to unmanaged environments, test data generated or masked, data residency requirements followed.
Accessibility and standards WCAG conformance, your UI standards, coding standards and architecture review boards.

Architecture and stack

We are vendor-neutral with deep Microsoft experience, which suits most enterprise environments. Where an organization is standardized on Microsoft, we build on ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, Azure, Entra ID and, where it fits, Power Platform and Dynamics, through our .NET development practice. Where the estate is mixed or open source, we work in Java, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL and the major clouds. The architecture is chosen to fit your standards, your operations team and the systems the application must integrate with, not to showcase a technology.

Integration patterns we use

  • REST and GraphQL APIs behind an API gateway, with authentication delegated to your identity provider.
  • Event-driven integration with message queues or an event bus where systems must stay loosely coupled.
  • Scheduled batch and file exchange where the target system supports nothing else, with reconciliation and alerting.
  • Integration platforms (Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi or similar) where your organization has standardized on one.

Request a capability statement for your vendor review.

Delivery model

Enterprise work usually runs as a dedicated team with a defined cadence rather than a single fixed project, because requirements evolve as departments see working software. The model we propose most often:

  1. Discovery and architecture. A short, fixed-scope phase producing requirements, architecture, an integration inventory, a security design and a delivery plan your architecture board can approve.
  2. Dedicated team. A named team (lead, engineers, QA, and a project manager who speaks to your PMO) working in agreed increments, with demos at each one and a backlog you control.
  3. Testing. Our testing center of excellence covers functional, regression, automation, performance and security testing, with user acceptance testing supported in your environments.
  4. Documentation and knowledge transfer. Architecture documents, runbooks, API documentation and code walkthroughs delivered as part of scope, not as an afterthought, so your team or another vendor can take over.
  5. Support under SLAs. Defined SLAs for incident response and change requests once the application is live, through managed services or a support retainer, for as long as you need them.

Where you prefer to keep delivery in-house, our staff augmentation service places engineers inside your teams, under your management, with the same vetting.

How this relates to our SMB work

We build software for organizations of every size, and that is a strength rather than a compromise. The disciplines enterprise clients require, such as documented architecture, automated testing, audit trails and clean handover, are the same ones we apply to a founder’s first product; we simply scale the ceremony to the client. In the other direction, the speed we have to keep for smaller clients stops enterprise projects from drifting. A department inside a large group often tells us that what it wanted was a vendor that behaves like an enterprise supplier and works like a startup, and that is the balance we aim for.

Engagement models

  • Fixed-scope project. A discovery phase, a single application, an integration or a migration with a defined deliverable and a fixed-scope quote.
  • Dedicated team or staff augmentation. A named team on a monthly basis for an application program, or engineers placed inside your own teams, scaled up or down with the roadmap.
  • Managed services. We run and support the applications we built, or ones we inherit, under defined SLAs with reporting to your IT leadership.
  • Advisory. Architecture review, modernization assessment, vendor evaluation or technical due diligence delivered as a written report.

How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment, and a written proposal.

Why PS3G as your enterprise software development company

  • Over a decade of software development and IT services for organizations of every size, with a US headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware and a delivery center in India for scale and round-the-clock coverage.
  • We build and run our own regulated product, our HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, so security questionnaires, audit requirements and uptime obligations are things we answer for ourselves.
  • Microsoft-certified and open-source-certified engineers, which fits the mixed estates most enterprises actually run.
  • A testing center of excellence covering functional, automation, performance and security testing, which enterprise change control depends on.
  • Delivery experience that includes IoT and AR/VR builds, not only web and mobile, for organizations with operational technology in the mix.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as enterprise software development?

Software built for an organization’s internal operations or its customers at scale, as opposed to a packaged product bought off the shelf. It includes line-of-business applications, portals, integrations between systems of record, data platforms and the modernization of older applications. What makes it enterprise is less the size of the organization than the requirements: identity integration, audit, change control, security review and support obligations.

Can you pass our vendor security review?

We expect to. We complete security questionnaires regularly, maintain written policies, use controlled environments, vet staff to the standard your policy requires, and can provide evidence of our own controls. Because we operate a HIPAA-regulated product, the questions are familiar. If your review requires specific certifications, tell us early and we will say plainly whether we meet them rather than find out at contract stage.

Do you work with our existing architecture and standards?

Yes. We integrate with your identity provider, follow your coding and UI standards, use your environments and promotion path, and present designs to your architecture review board. Where we think a standard will hurt the outcome, we say so in writing and then follow your decision. Working inside your rules is part of the service, not a concession.

How do you handle knowledge transfer and avoid lock-in?

Documentation and handover are deliverables in every statement of work: architecture, runbooks, API documentation and recorded walkthroughs. Code lives in your repositories and runs in your cloud accounts from the start. Our managed-services agreements include a defined handover process, so your team or another vendor can take over without a rebuild.

Can you build a custom enterprise application on Microsoft technology?

Yes, and it is the most common request. We build on ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, Azure and Entra ID, with Power Platform or Dynamics where they fit the use case, and we modernize older .NET Framework and classic ASP applications. We are also vendor-neutral, so if part of your estate runs on Java, Node.js or open-source databases, the same team works there.

What is the smallest engagement you take on with a large organization?

A single application, integration or assessment. Many enterprise relationships start with a discovery phase or one line-of-business application for one department, and grow from there once the team has been through your onboarding and delivered something. We do not require a minimum program size, and we would rather prove ourselves on one project than promise a transformation.
