Education and EdTech
Education and edtech software development: learning apps, LMS integrations and school portals, from the team behind the EasyLearning4Kids app.
Schools, universities, training companies and edtech founders need software that students will use, that teachers can manage, and that protects the data of minors. PS3G is an edtech app development company and an education software development partner for organizations of every size: a tutoring business or private school that needs a parent portal, a founder with a learning product to build, a university department integrating a new tool with its LMS, or a district IT team with a modernization list. We also build and run our own kids’ learning app, EasyLearning4Kids, with 5-star ratings on the App Store and Google Play, so we have faced the design, privacy and store-review questions ahead of you.

What we build for education
- Learning apps: educational app development for children and adults on iOS and Android, with offline content, progress tracking, audio and video lessons, games and assessments.
- Elearning and course platforms: LMS development from scratch or extensions to an existing LMS, with course authoring, quizzes, certificates, cohort scheduling and video for corporate training, continuing education and bootcamps.
- Student, parent and staff portals: admissions and enrollment, fee payment, attendance, grades, messaging, forms and document upload.
- LMS integrations: LTI 1.3 tools, grade passback, single sign-on and rostering, so a new tool appears inside the platform teachers already use.
- School websites and reporting: accessible, multilingual sites, and dashboards for attendance, outcomes and enrollment with the access controls student data requires.
Systems we commonly integrate
Learning management systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom), student information systems, single sign-on through Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID, OneRoster rostering, SCORM, xAPI and QTI content, video conferencing, tuition payment processors, and library and assessment platforms.
Typical first projects
| Organization | A common first engagement | What it usually becomes |
|---|---|---|
| Tutoring business, private school or edtech founder | A fixed-scope first version of a learning app or parent portal, with privacy and store requirements handled from the start | A dedicated team shipping new content and features each month |
| Training company or college department | An elearning platform, or an LTI integration that puts your tool inside the LMS, with reporting | Course authoring, certificates and analytics |
| University or school district IT team | Modernizing a legacy portal or integrating the SIS, LMS and identity systems, with accessibility remediation | Staff augmentation inside your team, under your security and procurement rules |
EasyLearning4Kids: what we learned building a kids’ app
EasyLearning4Kids teaches children aged one to five across nine categories, including alphabets, numbers, shapes, colors and animals, on iOS and Android. It is free to download, with a one-time in-app purchase that opens all content and no subscription, and it works offline. Building and maintaining it taught us lessons that apply to any elearning app development company’s work:
- Design for two users. The child needs large touch targets, audio instructions, no reading and short sessions. The parent needs clear pricing, no surprises and confidence about privacy.
- Offline first. Children use apps in cars, on planes and in houses with poor Wi-Fi. Content ships with the app or downloads once, and nothing breaks offline.
- No ads, no tracking. A children’s app that collects nothing has no data to protect and a much simpler store review and privacy story.
- A one-time purchase suits this audience. It is simpler for parents than a subscription, with fewer refund requests and less support.
- Test on low-cost devices. Many children use hand-me-down phones and budget tablets, and performance there decides the reviews.
- Store review is part of the project. Age ratings, kids-category rules and privacy labels take planning.
We apply the same discipline to client work through our mobile app development service; the EasyLearning4Kids case study has more on the build.
Privacy for minors (COPPA basics, not legal advice)
Education software carries privacy obligations that general consumer apps do not. In the United States, COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the FTC rule under it) applies to online services directed to children under 13 and to services that knowingly collect personal information from them. In general terms, it requires a clear privacy notice, verifiable parental consent before collecting a child’s personal information, limits on what is collected and how long it is kept, and reasonable security. FERPA governs education records held by schools that receive federal funds and sets conditions on sharing them with vendors, and many states add student privacy laws of their own. Check the current official text of each rule and talk to your counsel about your situation. This is general information, not legal advice.
In the software, those rules become design decisions: collect the minimum, keep behavioral advertising and third-party trackers out of anything a child uses, put age screening and parental consent flows in the right place, separate child data from adult data, give schools and parents a way to review and delete data, and set retention periods. For AI features such as tutors, feedback on student writing or chat assistants, we add review for accuracy and bias, keep a teacher or parent in the loop, and make sure student data is not used to train vendor models without agreement. Our AI governance service sets the policy and risk assessment behind that. Running our own HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, has made privacy-by-design a habit on every product we touch.
How we work with education organizations
Fixed-scope projects for a defined deliverable, a dedicated team or staff augmentation that scales with the academic calendar, managed services under defined SLAs, or advisory for product and technology roadmaps. How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment and a written proposal. Our web application development team builds the portals and platforms, and our testing center of excellence tests on the devices your students use.

Frequently asked questions
What does an edtech app development company need from us to start?
A clear picture of the learner, the buyer (parent, school or employer) and the one outcome the first version must deliver. From there we run a short assessment, propose a fixed scope and build a clickable prototype before full development. You do not need technical staff or finished content on day one.
Do you build learning apps for young children?
Yes. EasyLearning4Kids, our own app for ages one to five, is the proof. Apps for young children need audio-led interfaces, large touch targets, offline content, no ads or tracking, and careful handling of kids-category store rules and COPPA. We build those requirements in from the start rather than retrofitting them before store submission.
Can you integrate a new tool with our LMS?
Yes. We build LTI 1.3 integrations with grade passback and deep linking for Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard and similar platforms, plus single sign-on and rostering so teachers and students are set up automatically. For custom LMS development, we build the platform and connect it to your student information system.
How do you handle COPPA and FERPA in the software you build?
We design to collect the minimum, keep trackers and behavioral ads out of children’s experiences, build parental consent and age screening into the flow, separate child data, set retention periods and give schools and parents review and deletion tools. Your counsel confirms what applies to you; we build the product to match and document the controls for school procurement reviews.
Can you add AI features such as a tutor or writing feedback safely?
Yes, with governance. We limit the model to approved content, review outputs for accuracy and bias before launch, keep a teacher or parent able to see and override what the AI does, log interactions, and use vendor terms that keep student data out of model training. Our AI governance service produces the policy and risk assessment school boards ask for.
