Website Redesign Services
Website Redesign Services
Website redesign services that protect your search rankings: content audit, structure, design, rebuild, redirects and launch QA.
A website redesign replaces what no longer works while keeping what does: your rankings, your inbound links, the content that converts and the systems connected to the site. PS3G’s website redesign services start with an audit of the current site, then rebuild structure, design and code on WordPress, .NET or a modern JavaScript stack, with a redirect map and launch QA that protect search traffic. The approach is the same for a founder whose first site has aged, a marketing team whose site no longer reflects the company, or an IT department consolidating several sites into one, and the engagement is scoped to each.

Website redesign services without starting from zero
Most sites being redesigned hold assets worth keeping: pages that rank, URLs other sites link to, forms wired to a CRM, years of analytics history and content that took real effort to write. A redesign that ignores them trades a visible improvement for an invisible loss. We start by finding what works, measured in traffic, conversions and links, and carry it across on purpose.
Not starting from zero applies to the platform too. If the site runs on WordPress and the problems are the theme, the structure and the speed, we rebuild on WordPress with a custom theme. If the platform itself is the problem, we migrate. A website rebuild is a decision made from evidence, not a reflex.
When to redesign (and when to fix instead)
A redesign is the right answer to some problems and an expensive answer to others. The table is how we sort them in the first call.
| Symptom | Usually a fix | Usually a redesign |
|---|---|---|
| Slow pages | Image optimization, caching, hosting, script cleanup | The theme or page builder is the cause and cannot be tuned |
| Low conversion | Calls to action, forms and copy on the key pages | Structure and navigation confuse visitors about what you do |
| Looks dated | A style refresh within the existing theme | The brand has changed or there was never a design system |
| Hard to edit | Editor training and a few reusable templates | Builder lock-in, no templates, every page hand-built |
| Updates failing | A maintenance plan and a cleanup | Abandoned theme or plugins, or a platform at end of life |
| The company changed | New pages and updated copy | The offer, audience or structure of the business has moved |
When the left column applies, our maintenance and support team handles it as a fixed piece of work, and we tell you so rather than selling a redesign.
Our website redesign process
- Audit. A crawl of the current site, analytics and Search Console review, a list of pages that rank or earn links, conversion paths, integrations and technical issues. Deliverable: an audit report with a keep, improve or retire decision for every page.
- Structure. A new sitemap and URL plan, page outlines and a content plan that assigns writing and migration tasks. Pages that rank keep their URLs unless there is a reason to change them.
- Design. Wireframes for the key templates, then visual design in Figma with a component library, reviewed on mobile and desktop.
- Build. Theme or front end, templates, integrations and forms on a staging site, built from the structure rather than page by page.
- Redirects. A one-to-one map from every old URL to its new home, implemented as 301 redirects and tested with a crawler before launch.
- QA. Cross-browser and device testing, accessibility and performance audits, form and integration tests, and a check that titles, meta descriptions, headings and schema carried across.
- Launch. DNS, TLS, redirects on, staging noindex removed, sitemap submitted, Search Console and analytics verified, launch at a time your team chooses.
- Monitor. Crawl errors, rankings, traffic and conversions watched daily through hypercare, with fixes applied as they surface.

Protecting SEO during a redesign
Search traffic is lost in redesigns through a handful of avoidable mistakes, and the process above exists to prevent them.
- Benchmark before you start: rankings, traffic by page, inbound links and conversion rates, so you can tell what changed.
- Keep URLs where you can, and redirect one to one where you cannot. Redirecting everything to the home page loses the ranking signals that pointed at specific pages.
- Carry over titles, meta descriptions, headings and body content for pages that rank, and improve them deliberately rather than rewriting them from scratch.
- Do not thin the site. Consolidate weak pages into stronger ones with redirects instead of deleting them.
- Rebuild internal links to the new structure, keep schema markup, and keep the staging site out of the index until launch.
- Expect Core Web Vitals to improve, and measure them, because a faster site is one of the few redesign changes that helps rankings directly.
The full working list is in our website redesign checklist, linked below. If the redesign turns into a rebuild on a new platform, our website development process takes over from the structure stage, and WordPress development covers theme rebuilds and migrations in detail.
Engagement models and how we start
- Fixed-scope project. The usual choice: a defined redesign with a fixed price and acceptance criteria.
- Dedicated team or staff augmentation. Designers and developers working through a larger program of sites with your team.
- Managed services. Maintenance and enhancement of the new site under defined SLAs after launch.
- Advisory. The audit alone, with a written recommendation on fix versus redesign that you can act on with any vendor.
How we start: a first conversation, a short assessment of the current site, and a written proposal.
Why PS3G
We redesign and maintain our own public sites, including the site for our HIPAA-compliant EHR and telehealth platform, DocVilla, where search traffic pays for itself, so protecting rankings during a rebuild is a discipline we practice rather than a line in a proposal. More than a decade in business, a headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware with a delivery center in India, Microsoft and open-source certified engineers and a testing center of excellence that runs the launch QA are what you get on a redesign.

Frequently asked questions
Will a website redesign hurt my search rankings?
It can, and the usual causes are changed URLs without redirects, deleted content, lost titles and headings, or a staging site left open to search engines. A redesign that benchmarks first, keeps or redirects every URL one to one, carries content across and is tested before launch normally keeps its rankings and often improves them through better structure and speed. Short-term fluctuation while search engines recrawl is normal.
How long does a website redesign take?
It depends on the number of templates, the amount of content to rewrite or migrate, the integrations and how quickly reviews happen on your side. The audit gives us the page count and the issues, and the proposal includes a phase-by-phase schedule with your review dates marked. Content and approvals are the steps that most often stretch a redesign, so we plan them first.
Should we keep our existing URLs?
Keep them wherever the page’s purpose is unchanged; a stable URL preserves its links and ranking history. Change them only when the structure improves materially, such as moving services under one clear path, and redirect every old URL to its exact new counterpart. Never redirect everything to the home page. The URL plan in the structure stage records each decision.
Can you redesign the site on the same WordPress installation?
Yes. If WordPress is the right platform, we build the new theme and templates on a staging copy of your site, migrate and improve content, then switch over with the redirect map in place. You keep your plugins that still earn their place, your media library, your users and your analytics history, and the change for your editors is a better editing experience rather than a new system.
What do you need from us during a redesign?
Access to the current site, hosting, analytics and Search Console; a person who can make decisions about structure and content; subject-matter input for the pages that matter most; and prompt reviews at each stage. Where you lack time for content, we can write or edit it as part of the scope. The proposal lists exactly what sits with your team and when.
What happens after the new site launches?
A hypercare period in which we watch crawl errors, rankings, traffic, forms and performance and fix whatever surfaces, followed by training for your editors. Most clients then move to a maintenance plan so updates, backups, monitoring and small changes continue. The redesign is finished when the numbers are back to or above the benchmark, not when the site goes live.
